We have never had more conviction in the opportunity ahead for Contrario, our recruiters, and our partners. Since day one, our goal has been the same: free recruiters and companies from the repetitive parts of hiring so they can focus on the uniquely human ones. As AI capabilities have expanded, so has our ambition for what recruiting can become.
The recruiting inflection point
For the last 15 years, recruiting tech got better, but never truly differentiated. From 2010 to 2025, most of the category built SaaS tools for recruiting teams: ATS products, outbound sourcing, and screening software. While each one made existing tasks faster, none fundamentally changed what recruiting looks like.
That era is ending. What’s different now isn’t speed – it’s the ability to rely on memory and judgment. The next generation of software can match context, like why they are more likely to accept a certain profile. Or how a company should hire for a new role based on their previous decisions.
Agents learn across many company workflows, including:
Holding a company's hiring bar deeply enough to recognize shape of a fit
Understanding how a candidate grows as a person over time
Recognizing when a candidate from a past search is right for a new role
The way recruiters work is also changing with agents. Repetitive admin work like sourcing, scheduling, and follow-ups still consumes more than 50% of a recruiter’s time. Agents automate that work away. And now, recruiters can spend time on what matters most: building relationships with people.
We're already seeing the early signal of what this looks like. Roughly 30% of hires made on Contrario in the last two months had agents involved, and top recruiters are earning 3x more on our workflows. This is the beginning of a much larger shift in how hiring gets done, and Contrario is the platform behind it.
The agent-native recruiter
